A hidden bunny cake is such a fun Easter treat. Bake a cute hidden bunny cake for Easter Sunday to surprise your family or guests! The delicious hidden bunny cake is made with my homemade dairy-free egg liqueur.
Ingredients:
Chocolate Hidden Bunny Cake
- 175g flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 80g sugar
- 40ml oil
- 3 eggs
- 5 tbsp cocoa powder
Egg Liqueur Cake
- 125g flour
- 125g starch
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 180g sugar
- 20g homemade vanilla sugar
- 250ml oil
- 200ml homemade egg liqueur (made with 4 egg yolks)
- 50ml water
- 5 eggs
- pinch of salt
- optional: 60g chocolate chips
Make the chocolate cake layer for the hidden bunnies: Stir together all ingredients. Pour batter into a greased pan. Bake at 180°C for 25 minutes.
Using a bunny-shaped cookie cutter, cut out bunny shape.
Now make the egg liqueur cake: Beat the eggs together with the sugar and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the homemade egg liqueur and oil. Mix the dry ingredients. Stir them into the egg liqueur cake. Grease a loaf pan and arrange the chocolate bunnies as a long log. Pour the egg liqueur cake batter over the bunnies. Bake at 180°C for about 45 – 50 minutes.
Here you’ll find my recipe for hidden heart cake with a naturally colored pink heart.
I am so happy to see how this is made. I have always wondered how people put shapes of different colors in their cakes. Thanks for sharing this with us. I’ll share it with my daughter too and maybe I can convince her to make it.
I’ve also always wondered how such cakes are made. 😉 But since I’ve made a hidden heart cake for Valentine’s Day – my first surprise inside cake! – and it was so easy and so much fun, I wanted to make another surprise inside cake! 🙂
What a cute idea for Easter! It sounds yummy, too. What’s great is you can do this for any holiday/occasion. I’ll have to try it.
Yes, the cake’s delicious! Happy baking! 🙂
