Egg liqueur, Advocaat or Eierlikör is a rich, creamy, yellow, alcoholic drink. Egg liqueur is delicious for desserts, cakes, cocktails and ice cream.
Egg liqueur is usually made with dairy products – such as milk, cream or condensed milk. But I’m allergic to dairy products; therefore I came up with a recipe for dairy-free egg liqueur.
Ingredients:
- 4 egg yolks *
- 80ml rum
- 10 tbsp powdered sugar
* Egg liqueur is made with raw eggs, so I used fresh, organic eggs.
Using a whisk, whisk together egg yolks, powdered sugar and rum.
How long will homemade egg liqueur keep?
I think, it’ll keep for some days in the fridge, but I usually make it fresh on the day when I need egg liqueur for ice cream or egg liqueur cake.
Well I never – another thing that is new to me! I wonder if my son has heard of this? Thanks for sharing xx
