This Christmas craft tutorial of my Advent Calendar is a bit more complicated than the others but the outcome is totally worth it! 😀 In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make snowflake candle holders with paper snowflakes, mason jars and fake snow (salt). The snow mason jar looks beautiful on its own, but you can also group them together as centerpiece for your Christmas table, or make four fake snow candle holders as modern Advent wreath.
You’ll need:
- white paper
- scissor
- mason jar
- DIY wheatpaste
- salt
- candle or tealight
Cut snowflakes out of paper. Make DIY wheatpaste with flour and water. Brush wheatpaste on the paper snowflakes and carefully attach them to the mason jar.
Place a candle in the middle of the snowflake mason jar and fill salt around the candle. The snowflake luminaries look beautiful when they’re lighted. And they cast snowflake shadows on the wall! 😀
You can also use DIY wheatpaste to temporarily attach paper snowflakes to windows. After Christmas the snowflakes are easily removed with water.
Here you’ll find my tutorial for the paper snow trees you see in the pictures.
