Refashion a tee with lace! If there’s a too small or boring T-shirt lurking at the back of your wardrobe, add some lace at the sides to upcycle your old, ill-fitting shirt into a beautiful new piece! 😀
You’ll need:
- T-shirt
- lace
- sewing machine *
- scissor
* You can also handsew the lace in place with running or overcasting stitches.
You can buy a piece of lace or make your own. I made Irish crochet lace with 3D roses. Rip the seam at the sides and insert the lace with zig zag stitches.
I also sewed the skirt – here you’ll find more pictures of the candy striped cotton skirt.
What a great idea. I’m not great at thinking of refashions so appreciate the tips!
Thank you! 😀
Super cute tank top! Pinning. Visiting from Best of the Weekend party.
I’m glad you liked the refashioning! 🙂
That really turned out great. It’s amazing how much the lace changes the look.
Thanks for sharing at Funtastic Friday.
Yes, the lace turns an ordinary top into something fancier! 🙂
Such a CUTE upcycle for a tee! Teens would love this & it’s a great re-use for old lace & crochet pieces. Saw you on Boondocks Blog link party…just had to look & comment!
I’m glad you’re here and took the time to leave a comment! 🙂
This looks awesome! I did something similar years ago with a strip of fabric, I love the lace. Thanks for sharing this at #HomeMattersParty

Very Pretty. At the price of some of the fashions today—sewing something unique with a pieces you already have, thanks for the great idea on the sides. Hadn’t thought of that, Sandi
Thank you 😀
That is such a clever idea Lina. It looks so high end now. And a totally different garment. Your creations are really wonderful. Pinning!
Thank you for pinning!

Thank you! 🙂 And DIY crochet lace can be made to measure in one’s favorite color and pattern.
