These shamrock-shaped cookies are naturally dyed green with matcha. Because you have to add a lot of matcha to dye the cookies green, they taste strongly of tea but in a good way! Shamrock matcha cookies – a perfect all-natural green treat for St. Patrick’s Day!
Naturally Green Shamrock Matcha Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour (130g)
- 1 1/2 tbsp matcha
- 1/2 cup sugar (100g)
- 1 stick butter (115g)
- 1/8 tsp salt
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
Combine flour, matcha, sugar and salt in a medium bowl. Add the butter and cut the butter into the flour mixture with a knife. Knead the dough briefly and put it into the fridge for 15 minutes.
Now roll out the matcha dough on baking paper or a lightly floured surface. Cut out the dough with a shamrock-shaped cookie cutter. With a knife, transfer the cookies to a baking paper-lined baking sheet.
Bake the matcha cookies for 8 minutes. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet.
