Homemade natural pink rose drink is a cooling drink on hot summer days. It’s scented with rosewater and naturally colored with beetroot.
Ingredients for one glass:
- 300ml water
- 1 tablespoon rosewater
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/8 – 1/4 teaspoon beetroot powder or some drops of homemade raw beetroot juice
Combine all ingredients, and stir until the sugar and beetroot powder is dissolved.
I invented the rosewater cordial in search for a natural, quick and easy cooling drink. According to Ayurveda, roses have a cooling effect – perfect for hot summer days! 😀 Because I’ve so much beetroot powder left over – which I mainly bought to try out natural makeup recipes 😉 – I used it to naturally dye the rosewater drink a pretty pink. Beetroot is said to be health-promoting – but if you don’t have or want beetroot in your drink, just omit it. Now enjoy the cooling rose drink in the hot summer sun!
