Homemade natural pink rose drink is a cooling drink on hot summer days. It’s scented with rosewater and naturally colored with beetroot.
Ingredients For 1 Glass:
- 300ml water
- 1 tbsp rosewater
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- optional: 1/8 – 1/4 tsp beetroot powder or some drops of homemade raw beetroot juice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients, and stir until the sugar and beetroot powder is dissolved.
I came up with the rosewater cordial recipe searching for a natural, quick and easy cooling drink. According to Ayurveda, roses have a cooling effect – perfect for hot summer days! 😀 Because I’d so much beetroot powder left over – which I mainly bought to try out natural makeup recipes 😉 – I used it to naturally dye the rosewater drink a pretty pink. Beetroot is said to be health-promoting – but if you don’t have or want beetroot in your drink, just omit it. Now enjoy the cooling rose drink in the summer sun!
I’ve never had rose water in lemonade before – sounds good! Thanks for sharing at the What’s for Dinner link party!
