Some pictures of my pink and yellow ghagra (Indian skirt), which is embroidered with silver sequins.
I used pink and yellow cotton fabric, and silver sequins. I also used large silver sequin paillettes to imitate Indian mirror work embroidery.
Usually, just the front of Indian skirts is embroidered. I embellished the front of my ghagra with a yellow cotton border and silver sequins, while the back is just embroidered with some silver sequin flowers.
Most of the embroidery is done by machine; just some of the sequins are attached by hand.
My ghagra is a half-circle skirt.
I’m also wearing my pink cotton choli.
These were my inspirations for the skirt: Pink and yellow sequined lehenga, yellow sequin lehenga, maroon and yellow sequin skirt, orange and purple chaniya choli, green sequined ghagra.
