DIY yarn carrots are a great Easter decoration. In this tutorial I’ll show you how to make cute yarn wrapped carrots with yarn carrot tops. They’re so simple to make, you’ll just need some yarn scraps and paper. DIY yarn carrots are also a cute addition to a play grocery store or play kitchen for your kids.
You’ll need:
- orange and green yarn
- (orange) paper
- green fabric
- needle and scissor
- glue or DIY wheat paste
Roll paper into a cone till the shape resembles a carrot. Secure the paper carrot with glue or DIY wheat paste.
Now start wrapping orange yarn around the paper carrot: Secure the yarn at the bottom of the carrot with glue – I used glue just for the bottom of the carrot. Then continue to wrap yarn around the paper carrot.
Cut a piece of fabric that is slightly larger than the top of the carrot. Cover the fabric with green yarn loops.
To secure the yarn loop carrot top, wrap orange yarn around the green fabric.
Now secure the ends of the yarn and your DIY yarn carrot is finished!
I was looking at something similar at the store but didn’t want to pay the high price. These would be a perfect alternative! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! 🙂 And the DIY yarn carrots cost practically nothing.
