Delicious, healthy juice for free – what’s better than that? Homemade sloe juice is easy to make with just two ingredients: sloe berries and water!
Homemade sloe juice is sweet and sour – and not astringent like raw sloe berries! It tastes almost like blueberry juice.
Homemade Sloe Juice
Ingredients:
- sloe berries
- hot water

Directions:
Wash the sloe berries and place them in a large glass jar. Pour enough hot water over the sloes so that they are covered by one inch. Cover the jar and let it stand for one day at room temperature.

After about 24 hours, pour off the sloe juice and bring it to a boil again. Pour the hot sloe juice over the berries again. Let it stand for another 24 hours.
Repeat the process two times more.
Then strain out and discard the sloe berries and enjoy your homemade sloe juice. I prefer unsweetened sloe juice but feel free to add sugar. You can even add spices like cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
Store homemade sloe juice in the fridge for up to 5 days. If you want to keep homemade sloe juice for longer it’s best to add sugar or freeze it.
I’m not familiar with sloe berries, but will keep my eyes open. Thanks for sharing with Fiesta Friday!
