Homemade lilac ice cream with fresh lilac flowers – a sweet, delicious and unusual ice cream for hot summer days! The lilac ice cream is egg-free, dairy-free & vegan!
Lilac flowers are one of my favorite spring flowers! I was so happy when I found out that lilac flowers are edible! I thought lilac ice cream would be delicious but I couldn’t find a recipe for lilac blossom ice cream. So I adapted one of my vegan ice cream recipes – jasmine ice cream – and came up with this lilac ice cream with fresh lilac flowers!
Homemade Lilac Ice Cream With Fresh Lilac Flowers
Ingredients:
- 2 – 4 handful fresh lilac flowers
- 3 cups soy milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup oil
Directions:
Combine fresh lilac flowers, soy milk and sugar in a glass or porcelain bowl. Cover the bowl with a plate and steep the lilac flowers for 2 – 4 days in the fridge.
Remove the lilac flowers with a fork or a mesh strainer. Stir in the oil – I usually use almond oil or sunflower oil. Freeze the lilac flower ice cream in an ice cream maker.
