It didn’t take long to sew this mid-18th century lappet cap by hand. Here are now some detail pictures of the cap.

All the raw edges are finished with a combination of a running and a whip stitch.

The crown I’ve gathered with cartridge pleats before I’ve attached it to the brim piece; but I should’ve gathered the crown with rolled whipped gathers which I didn’t know when I’ve sewn the cap some years ago.
