DIY Red Cabbage Fabric Printing Ink

A while ago, I printed fabric with leftover homemade natural blue food coloring (made with red cabbage & baking soda). But the print was very pale after washing. But this time I used just the thickened red cabbage juice without baking soda as DIY natural printing ink. I used a heart shaped cookie cutter as stamp – it’s not perfect but it works.

I let the print dry overnight. The print was purple, but turned blue after washing as I expected (red cabbage dye is ph sensitive). I like the color very much: it’s a beautiful dove blue.
