On Day 5 of my Advent Calendar, we make frosty beaded snowflakes.
You’ll need:
- bugle beads and seed beads in white or crystal
- thin wire (ca. 0.3 mm thick)
- wire cutter
Make the first ‘arm’ of the snowflake: Thread 3 bugle beads and 1 seed bead onto the wire, push the wire back through the last bugle bead.
Thread 1 bugle and 1 seed bead, go back through the bugle bead.
Thread 3 bugle beads and 1 seed bead; thread back through the last 2 bugle beads.
String 2 bugle and 1 seed bead, go back through the 2 bugle beads.
Thread 2 bugle beads, 1 seed bead, 1 bugle bead, 1 seed bead, 1 bugle bead, 1 seed bead, and 1 bugle bead. Push the wire back through the first bugle bead and all the way through the middle stem of the first arm of the snowflake.
Thread 1 bugle bead, and make the second arm like the first. Continue till your snowflake has six arms. To finish the beaded snowflake, push the wire through the inner circle of the snowflake. Wrap the wire to secure and cut off. Now make more snowflakes, if you want a white Christmas. 😉 To make the snowflakes look natural, you could make each snowflake a bit different.
