Cherry yogurt ice cream – a refreshing dessert on hot summer days! This cherry yogurt ice cream with homemade candied cherries is dairy-free and made without raw eggs!
This cherry frozen yogurt ice cream is so delicious – creamy, sweet and refreshing – and made completely from scratch! It’s basically a vanilla custard with homemade vanilla sugar, soy yogurt and homemade candied cherries.
Cherry Yogurt Ice Cream – Dairy-Free, No Raw Eggs
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup homemade candied cherries
- 1 1/2 cups soy yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups soy milk
- 1/4 cup homemade vanilla sugar
- 2 egg yolks
Directions:
Whisk together soy milk, vanilla sugar and egg yolks in a saucepan. While constantly stirring, cook the custard over medium heat until thickened. Let the custard cool completely.
Coarsely chop the homemade candied cherries.
When the custard is cool, whisk in the soy yogurt (you can also use another plant-based yogurt) and the chopped candied cherries.
Freeze the cherry yogurt ice cream in an ice cream maker. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour the ice cream mixture into a popsicle mold and make cherry yogurt popsicles instead!
This looks so so good! It is definitely ice cream weather here this week and this would be perfect.
Thanks, Corina! 😀

Thanks, Chloe!
Wow, absolutely yummy and perfect for me now I’m plant-based, thanks. Love your pictures too x
Thank you so much! 😀
Love that you cook the custard. I’ve always cooked the custard when using eggs as did my mother before me. I can still here her stern warning about ice cream with raw eggs.
Thanks for stopping by, Rogene!
This sounds delicious – cherry is always a winner in my book! xx

This looks so good, Lina, and I love that you have shared how to make homemade candied cherries too! It’s the perfect ice cream to make in July and I’m featuring it at this week’s Hearth and Soul Link party. Hope to ‘see’ you there! Have a lovely week!
