I made a white tulle lace collar and matching cuffs for my 1920s black celanese afternoon dress.
It’s an old lace which was frayed very badly and had many holes. There were two pieces of the lace which were sewn together. I removed the stitches. Then I cut through the lace piece, which was more damaged, to make two cuffs.
I patched the holes with tiny tulle pieces from the lace. Luckily the patches are now hardly noticeable. 🙂 Afterwards I starched the lace collar and cuffs: now the lace is as stiff as paper. 😉
