For my 1920s sheer striped dress I used some fabric scraps that were leftover from my grandma’s curtains. 😀 The fabric is a sheer cream and white striped curtain fabric.

Because I didn’t like how the dress looked when I first made it I refashioned it. So this is how the dress looks now after the refashion.
I removed fabric at the sides of the bodice to make the dress smaller, reattached the skirt and changed the neckline of the dress. I also added self-fabric flowers at the waist of the dress and a self-fabric bow at the shoulder.

My 1920s dress is shirred at the shoulders. And the skirt is gathered at the side hips which was popular in the 1920s.

The hem and armscyes are finished with my 1920s imitation picot hem.
My 1920s sheer striped dress is inspired by antique 1920s dresses like this 1920s creme-white striped dress.
Because the 1920s summer dress is very sheer, I wear it over my 1920s pure silk slip with antique Mechlin lace trim at the top and bottom. The dress is so sheer that you can see the lace of the slip through! 😉

I also wear 1920s-style T-strap shoes and my 1920s sheer cloche hat.

And I used fabric scraps of the dress to trim the hat with a matching self-fabric flower and bow.
