I again used some curtain scraps for a 1920s summer dress (as for this 1920s lace dress)! 😉
This time I used a sheer cream and white striped curtain fabric.
The dress has a bow on the right shoulder, and two pleats down the front and back. It’s shirred on the shoulders, and the skirt is gathered at the hips. The hem and armscyes are finished with my 1920s imitation picot hem.
I also made a matching fabric flower belt. It has a white belt buckle, and is closed with a press button. For the flowers I used scraps of the dress fabric and yellow sewing thread. Here’s a close-up of one of the flowers.
I’m wearing my freshly starched sheer cloche hat, 1920s style t-strap shoes, and a leather bag.
Here’s a similar 1920s creme-white striped dress. And here’s a chiffon dress with flower belt.
As the dress is sheer, I’m wearing a 1920s real silk slip underneath.
