Inspired by this beautiful 1876 braided hairstyle and this similar 1873 updo I tried to recreate the 1870s braided updo.

Part your hair at the back from ear to ear and braid this section.

Bring the braid towards your forehead, wrap it around your head, and secure it with hairpins.

Now roll the rest of the hair upwards and pin it at the top of your head covering the ends of the braid.

This is the finished updo.
