1850s/ 1860s Cotton Lace Garibaldi Blouse

This is my 1850s/ 1860s white cotton Garibaldi blouse. The blouse is inspired by antique Garibaldi blouses: Here’s a photograph of a lady wearing a white cotton Garibaldi blouse.

For the blouse I’ve used white cotton cambric, white cotton lace fabric, and white cotton bobbin lace. It’s machine sewn. I had just a bit of the lace fabric left, which I’ve used for the sleeves.

The blouse is closed with hooks and eyes. And the sleeve cuffs also close with hooks and eyes. I’ve finished the cuffs with bobbin lace.

  1. I love this blouse! I’m trying to make a Garibaldi blouse myself; I’m curious where you got the pattern from or how you drafted it?
