Chocolate hazelnut truffles are a delicious Easter treat. These yummy Easter egg truffles are vegan and super easy to make!
- 1/4 cup hazelnuts
- 30g chocolate
- 1/2 – 1 tbsp (hazelnut) oil
- optional: 1 – 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1/2 tbsp cocoa butter (or coconut oil)
Make hazelnut butter: In a high-powered blender or food processor, blend hazelnuts until smooth. Melt chocolate and cocoa butter, then stir in the other ingredients (use less oil if you don’t add powdered sugar). Put the vegan truffles mixture in the fridge for about 1 hour to harden. Then roll a teaspoonful of the truffles mixture between your hands forming an egg shape. Put the chocolate truffles back in the fridge to firm up again.
Coat the vegan chocolate truffles in melted chocolate or roll them in cocoa powder or chopped nuts. You can also coat the truffles with natural blue icing to make speckled robin egg truffles.
