It’s easy to make homemade vanilla oil which can be used for cooking and baking and for beauty recipes. I used the vanilla oil for my cold cream. I just replaced the almond and jojoba oil with vanilla infused oil. Now the cold cream has a wonderful vanilla rose scent! 😀
- 1 vanilla bean
- 150ml almond oil
Slice the vanilla bean down the center and scrape out the seeds (you don’t need the seed for the vanilla infused oil – I used them to make vanilla ice cream for iced coffee).
Cut the vanilla bean into small pieces and place them in a jar. Pour the oil over the vanilla pieces. Cover the jar with a lid and let the oil infuse for about three weeks in a warm place. Or use the quicker heat method: Infuse the oil over low heat in a water bath for 2 or 3 hours. Then strain the oil through muslin or a sieve.
