For awhile, you will remember it was not considered good form to parade on Easter Sunday. But in the many revivals of the twentieth century the revival of the Easter parade is one of the most marked. To go to church is, of course, the correct thing; and to walk afterward is also accepted as in accord with the spirit of Easter; and what more certain than that every woman will wear her best hat and best gown out to enjoy the sunshine of the April day.’ (San Francisco Call, 1903)

Mint green is my favorite color, so I jumped with joy when a mint green jeans was given to me! 😀 The jeans was old, faded and soft from washing. But I liked the mint green denim fabric and the natural used look. The jeans had an unflattering carrot cut with pleats at the waist. So I thought I’d turn the jeans into an A-line skirt.

18th Century Short Gown

My 18th century jacket is finally finished! Yay! I sewed the last two seams just some minutes before we took the photos! 😉 This type of 18th century jacket is called a bedgown, short gown, unlined caraco or manteau de lit. Short gowns were considered undress in the 18th century. Undress or informal wear – the everyday clothes of the 18th century – was worn around the house while doing the work.
