Patriotic Strawberries With Natural Food Coloring

Patriotic Strawberries With Natural Food Coloring

Patriotic strawberries are such a fun 4th of July dessert. And you don’t even need artificial food coloring! These red, white & blue strawberries are naturally colored with homemade natural blue food coloring! 😀

Patriotic strawberries are so easy and fast to make: In just a couple of minutes you have a delicious summer dessert!

You’ll need homemade naturally colored blue sugar for this patriotic dessert. I made peppermint-flavored blue sugar for peppermint-flavored patriotic strawberries. Isn’t the dark blue color of the naturally colored blue sugar amazing? It’s perfect for all-natural 4th of July treats! 😀

Ingredients:

Naturally Colored Patriotic Strawberries

I made icing with hot water and powdered sugar. Don’t add something acidic to the icing, such as lemon juice, because red cabbage food coloring is ph-sensitive and the blue sugar would turn purple.

Dip the strawberries into the icing. Then dip the bottom of the strawberries into the naturally colored blue sugar sprinkles. Place the all-natural patriotic strawberries on a plate or parchment paper to dry.
