Green St. Patrick's Day Cake Naturally Colored With Sunflower Seeds And Green Peas

Make a naturally green cake for St. Patricks Day!

The light green cake layer is naturally colored with green peas and the dark green top layer is naturally colored with sunflower seeds!

Naturally Green St. Patrick's Day Cake (No Food Coloring Added)

Ingredients:

Naturally Green Pea Cake
  • 135g (1 cup) fresh or frozen peas
  • 125g (1 cup) flour
  • 75g (1/3 cup) butter
  • 75g (1/3 cup) sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp homemade vanilla extract
White Sunflower Seeds Cheesecake Filling – Vegan & Raw
  • 3/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup soy yogurt
  • 4 tbsp powdered sugar (or agave syrup or honey)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp homemade vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Naturally Green Raw Sunflower Seeds Cheesecake Filling

Cake: Preheat the oven to 160°C/ 325°F. Grease a springform pan.

If you use frozen peas, let the peas thaw. Puree the peas in a food processor until smooth.

Mix all ingredients together with a mixer. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

White layer: Blend the sunflower seeds in a food processor until smooth. Add the other ingredients and blend. Spread the filling onto the cake.

Naturally Green Cake Without Spinach And Without Spirulina

Green layer: Blend the naturally green sunflower seeds in a food processor. Add the other ingredients. Blend again. Spread the filling onto the cake.

Put the cake into the freezer overnight. Allow the cake to thaw in the fridge or at room temperature before serving.
