Today I made vanilla infused alcohol which I’ll later use for cooking and baking. Homemade vanilla extract is very easy to make and smells wonderful! 😀
- 1 vanilla bean
- 150ml rum
Split the vanilla bean and scrape out the seeds (the seeds aren’t necessary for the vanilla extract – you could use them to make some vanilla ice cream).
Cut the vanilla bean into small pieces and place them in a jar. Pour alcohol over the vanilla. Cover the jar with a lid and let the alcohol macerate for at least one month in a cool and dark place, shaking it once a week.
