I’ve always wanted to try to make bobbin lace, but didn’t want to buy any tools before I knew if I’d like making pillow lace. Therefore I made my own bobbins and pillow. For the DIY bobbins I just cut a length of common reed. The lace pillow is polystyrene with fabric pinned on top.
